What's even better than fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies ? Well, that would be chocolate chip cookies spread with extra layers of creamy pudding and a pretty candy topping. And that is what’s called a Chocolate Chip Cookie Delight.

This Chocolate Chip Cookie Delight recipe is not only over-the-top delicious, but it’s also super easy to whip up using mostly pre-made, store-bought ingredients like packaged cookie dough and pudding mix . The chocolate syrup design and chocolate shavings on top make for an artful presentation that seals the deal.

What You'll Need To Make Chocolate Chip Cookie Delight

For this recipe, start with a package of store-bought refrigerated chocolate chip cookie dough. You’ll also need cooking spray, cream cheese, powdered sugar, frozen whipped topping, whole milk, instant chocolate pudding and pie filling, chocolate syrup, and a bar of 60 percent bittersweet chocolate. You can add other candies to the top if you wish, like sprinkles or crushed M&Ms.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Delight Recipe Tips

The Southern Living Test Kitchen shared some helpful tips to make this easy dessert even easier:

  • Use a measuring cup to push down the cookie dough evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  • After baking, it’s important to make sure the crust is completely cool before moving onto the next steps. If it’s not, the cookie will melt the cream cheese layer. In a rush? You can speed up the process by putting it in the refrigerator after 15 minutes out of the oven.
  • During the preparation, try wiping the pan edges before adding each layer to create cleaner lines for a prettier presentation.
  • And when cutting the final product before serving, make sure you go through the cookie layer completely, cleaning the knife each time with a paper towel to keep it neat.

What Does Chocolate Chip Cookie Delight Taste Like?

This layered chocolate chip cookie bar is sweet and chocolaty, of course—but it’s not overly sweet as you might expect from the ingredients. Rather than dense, this dessert is actually light, thanks to the whipped topping and pudding.

The cookie crust makes a sturdy foundation upon which to build the creamy sweet layers.

This sweet, light, and just plain fun recipe is a huge hit with kids—and a great way to get them involved with cooking, too.
