She comes to Southern Living with nearly two decades of news gathering experience working in television, radio, and print.

Outside of work, Rebecca enjoys seeing independent films at the Sidewalk Cinema, shopping at her favorite local bookstore, Thank You books, and cooking for friends and family. Working at Southern Living has dramatically improved her kitchen skills.

Rebecca Angel Baer is Southern Living's Senior Digital Editor. She helped create and define the distinct voice for Southern Living's news department. Rebecca has been working in the news media in just about every form since she took her first internship at WKNO in Memphis at the age of 15. She comes to the magazine after spending nearly two decades working in radio and television news as a writer and producer. Rebecca leads the charge when big news hits the South.

Our region is frequently subject to outbreaks of severe weather and when that occurs, Rebecca makes sure our readers have the information they need to prepare ahead of a storm or how to help their neighbors in the aftermath. She is also on top of all the rest of the region’s news you need to know. From the Hallmark Christmas schedule to Southerners doing remarkable things to help their neighbors. She's a passionate news hound who is dedicated to bringing Southern Living readers all the important stories they need to know.

TalkSPORT Radio: Rebecca lived in London and served as a producer for several different live radio shows over two years for the UK’s largest commercial radio station.
